Hey guys,
I have a 2000 C5 MN6 6-speed with LG 1 3/4" headers, catless mid-pipe, Vararam and I am picking up an LS6 intake shortly.
I would like to order a cam and have the following two in mind:
Ed Curtis Streetsweeper HT 228/232 .612/.600 on a 111LSA
or
Torquer V2 232/234 .600/.600 available on a 111, 112, 113 or 114 LSA.
I do have stock 853 heads. I'm looking to go cam only right now.
I want 390-410whp. High 11's if possible trapping 118ish. I want the car to be driveable and make power everywhere.
I've ruled out the futral F13, and any of the LG G5X"x" cams.
Only other cam I would consider is a stealth cam that isn't detectable, but I know this would be a custom grind and I want to keep the costs down and I highly doubt it would make the power I want...

Those 2 cams will probably make within 5 hp of each other. Pick your poision.....

Are these cams way too big? I had done most of my research on the corvette forum, I come here, read the forum for 2 hours and I'm seeing much different profiles being used, and unless its my glasses I'm seeing a lot of smaller cams being used... Originally Posted by HCI2000SS

With a good tune drivability will be just fine with those cams
This one has been recommend to me:
Brian Tooley Racing
BTR Stage II ... 227/234 .614"/.576" 113+2
Thoughts?

Honestly it's not a lot different than the other two. Depending on the LSA , all 3 cams will be in a similar ballpark IMO

What's your rear gear? You can get away with more overlap with more rear gear.

I daily drive the new Torquer V2 on a 113 LSA in my M6 Z28 with stock 3.42 gears. 132k miles on the engine at cam install with 0.020" milled heads 0.051" GM MLS head gaskets and every bolt on that exists including an LS6 intake and DIY ported TB.
With the wear of 132k miles and lots of oil in the intake (didnt have a catch can installed yet) it put down 400rwhp & 388rwtq on a DynoJet with a conservative tune.
Torque peaks at 388rwtq just over 3000 RPM and remains flat. Pulls effortlessly to my shift point of 6600, redline is set at 6800.
Very happy with the way it drives, power is instantly available at all RPMs.
I have 4.10s waiting to go in, once the 3.42 breaks lol

that BTR stage 2 is a really good cam as well as the Cam Motion Titan IV
Best little stealth cam is the EPS 214/232....works well with milled heads to bump the compression

I initially wanted to install the BTR stage II but I found the TSP Torquer V2 used with very low mileage for a great deal I just couldnt turn it down. Originally Posted by A.R. Shale Targa

Was interested in installing the Cam Motion Titan 5 and still think how much more power was left on the table in between the 2 cams with the extra 4 degrees of exhaust duration. Of course lobe design is also different and will affect the results.
I am going to experiment soon with doing the LS2/LS6 snout swap and throw in a WARR 92mm TB to see what kind of power can be gained.

I really wanted to try this cam (I have ported 241s too) but unfortunately I wasn't able to easily purchase it from over here in Australia so I bought the Cam Motion 218/226 116. It goes in shortly so I will find out how it runs Originally Posted by A.R. Shale Targa

Give Cam Motion a call; they'll fill you in more on what it's about.

Staging Lane
C5 frc M-12 transmission 3.90's Lloyd Elliot stage 2 full bolt ons. Torquer V2 installed December 2014 popped off the passenger side valve cover looks as pristine as the last time it saw the light of day. It's not my daily by any means though. Stock rocker arms off the 2011 Silverado the 799's LLoyd worked over no problems
