Default Lq4 upgrade recommendations

I have a 62 international scout with an lq4 dropped in it. It's a go fast sand toy / rock crawler. I am nearing the completion of the build and before I go to get it fine tuned on the dyno I want to do a few upgrades and lookin for input. My thoughts are doing 243 heads (worth it?) so far leaning towards a Texas speed cam, lifters, rods, studs (based on a similar build a buddy did). Since this will not be a daily driver (it will see street occasionally but majority Offroad) what do you guys recommend? I am not looking to go broke but same hand I am willing to spend some money prior to tuning. What else should I be considering doing or brands? Links are always helpful trying to wrap up the engine this month. This is my first ls swap. Thanks!

Also if you have any parts for sale let me know.

I have the part number at home but it was a .600 lift 228/232 duration. I can be convinced to do a different set up of you have a better recommendation?

I wouldn't go that large. id use a 223/226 .600/.600 111+3 and youll be good to go. Make quite a bit of torque. Id use a pac1219x on it instead of the 1218 for your application.

We can get you that cam, springs, pr kit for $600 shipped.
The cam install kits are $65 but include a new thrust plate with bolts, crank bolt, front cover gasket and seal, oil pump o rings, water pump gaskets and valve cover gaskets. add $20 for new hd viton valve stem seals.

Hd timing set is $65 or billet for $85
Oil pumps start at $75 for our hi flo or $90 for our ported hi flo. melling high pressure 10295 is $125.

Lifters are $99 lifters and trays are $139

Besides other gaskets and head bolts that sets you up! if you want a complete package deal just let us know!!

Youll lose out some on the bottom end tq and itll be more for higher rpm power than low and mid range.

Thanks! So the real question is are the 243 heads really worth the swap and money? There is nothing wrong with the current heads but was thinkin of bumping up the conpression but now I'm wondering if the money and time is worth the gains? I rather spend my money where it will make the biggest difference. If not where would you put that money?

The 243 and a good valve job will make a good difference.

Yeah 243 heads are almost always worth it from any of the other stock cathedral castings
