Default Ls main caps

I'm having issues breaking main cap bolts during assembly. I am using 15ft lbs of torque. I have purchased new bolts with same issue! Help would be greatly appreciated.

Your not confusing 15 with 150 are you, Because 15 ft # won't break a main bolt,
somethings not right here, are you having to put some strength on it to achieve the
15#? 15# is barely anything at all.

Agreed 15ftlbs is barely snug, you absolutely are doing something wrong.

It is VERY hard to feel the click of a click type torque wrench at low torque levels and you'll usually go way past it waiting for the click. At higher torque the click is a very adamant click, at low levels it doesn't really click it just kinda pops over. You need to get used to the feel of it first.

When I have to use very low torque like that I clamp the square of the torque wrench in a vise and lightly pull on it until I get the feel down and then I go over and torque the bolt.

When using that low of torque try stabilizing the wrench and then pulling it with one finger, that might help also.

You are referring to the 10mm side bolts, not the actual main cap fasteners, correct?

That's what I was assuming too, surely he is referring to the side bolts.
