Broken spring!!
1999 camaro
LS1 241 heads (I'm assuming stock springs)
full exhaust ls6 intake
228/228 comp cam
Started the car heard a clacking noise..
removed the valves an the 2nd driver side rocker an the spring was broke.. the valve was still up. The pushrod was fine. I'm looking at PAC springs with a .600 lift.. What is confusing is it had valve seals. Now if I upgrade to a better spring do the seals come out an the seats go in?

Ever thought about upgrading to 243/799 heads? Good time to do it, since you have to pull a head off anyway.

I havnt removed the head yet, I was trying to get more info, I was told I didn't have to remove the head if the push rod an the valve stem was good.. He could have been wrong, but yes 243s are my next upgrade.. that or a Bigger TB

I would be worried about POSSIBLY having a bent valve even though the valve was "still up". Who knows if it floated into the piston a bit?

I would at the least look in side the cylinder at the top of the piston with a bore scope and check for tap marks.. You can buy USB bore scopes cheap off eBay and such that plug in to a smart phone.. Handiest tool in the tool box.
