I did this once on my own ford 302 in my mustang. Somehow I forgot to fully torque number 8s rod bolts. I pulled the head and put my fist on the piston and pushed it down without rotating the motor after it let go and I took it apart.

it actually lasted awhile, multiple highway trips and 6500rpm pulls. On the dyno it acted super weird and made low power for a heads cam intake car.

was on my way home and shifted into fifth at low cruising rpm and it let it go. Drove it home clacking away. Wound up buying a used short block, just threw rods and mains into it and nothing else. Lesson learned as well. Sorry it happened to you man, but it happens to the best of us.
