Default Milled 243 heads questions.

I am currently building a 5.3/T56 combo and was wanting more compression without compromising the PTV clearance. I was thinking of taking .040 off the heads. also Intake fitment is a question I have, running a stock LS6 intake. Thanks for any input.

At .030" the intake should fit fine.
At .040" you may have intake fitment issues but could have the intake shaved a bit also

I would do that, but I am just running a junkyard bottom end. I don't want to spend any money on the bottom end.

I ran a set of 706 heads milled .042 with a holley single plane intake. I had to take material off the side of the intake to make it sit flush on the heads.

My 799s were cut .025" and my block .015" for a combined total of .040"
I left the used O-rings in my factory LS6 intake and lightly pushed down on it while getting the bolts started and tightened......no intake mods done but it was really close
Any more cutting than that would absolutely require some dowel removal and surfacing
