Default Patriot stage 3 heads on ls1

I've found a good deal, on a set of patriot performance stage 3 heads. Has anyone ran these on a stock bore LS1 ?

I've seen of a few older threads, people saying the larger valves might be to large for the stock LS1 bore ? I haven't seen anything yet with someone saying they've worked well on a std bore LS1.

This, real patriot stg 3 heads have made real good power on bigger motors. I can't find them now but another company was selling a patriot stg3 head with the same valve sizes and I believe same flow sheet as patriot performance. They were using new cheap castings from over seas and I never saw anything good from them. I believe it was pro max maybe that had the heads but not positive on that. If they are patriot performance heads they will still have gm casting numbers on the.

It’s generally believed that a 2.04”-2.055” clears the bore but it’s flow is “shrouded”. People forget how much the chamber and coresponding bore size affect a cylinder head’s flow. This is the reason cylinder head guys always preach
Get the most flow from the smallest valve for the application.

What size valve do have and what casting number . If they don't have a casting# do you know the chamber volume ?

Just my opinion - but Patriot heads are junk.

GM valve seats are usually run with 2”,2.02”,&2.04” but most head guys will change out the seats to fit a 2.08” So ultimately you’re at the mercy of the quality of that process and subsequent valve job/chamber Un-shrouding
Perhaps having a local shop flow them for you to determine how much power they could make.

Agreed all stage 3 are 2.08 and the valve job should be checked

Patriot also offered Stage 2 and Stage 3 for the 6.0 heads they seem to prefer the 035 castings over the 317. I'm not sure what ProMaxx latest reincarnation of these stack up against the original Patriots !

I think after hearing what's been said, I'll pass on these heads. For not much more money I can pick something up that's proven. I'm not looking for anything crazy, just a decent improvement over my stock 241 heads.

Smart move. Maybe keep an eye out in the classifieds for a worked over set of 243's. Advanced Induction and TEA are great options.

I've been watching the classifieds for that past few weeks. I'm sure something will come up at some point.

Did some more digging. Kinda looks like patriot performance switched to Promaxx, then again to RPM outlet. Also looks like they are using factory castings now, I'm 99 percent positive they were using Chinese casting when it was Promaxx patriot stg 3. But here they are. https://www.rpmoutlet.com/gtomclutch.htm

I know they cost a pretty penny, but the AFR heads are top notch for our LS1 blocks! Well worth the $ if you can afford them.

Tooley as cast trick flow 220s and Mamo’s new Sportsman 223s are badass options. The Texas Speed marketed PRC225 as cast make great power too

I am running patriot stage III with the bigger valves on my car 2.08 on the intake if I am correct. My motor though is an procharged LS6, they seem to really shine mid to upper rpm. Then you can get a cam that builds power 2500-4000 rpm. and you have your setup.
