Default Stuck motor

I have a 98 engine out of a Camaro I had it rebuilt a couple years ago and hadn’t got around to messing with it got my project car finished and ready to add my motor I went to turn the LS over by hand and it stuck so I got a crowbar on the flexplate I was able to pry it a little at a time and I was able to use a 4 inch cheater bar or a half inch drive ratchet to turn it over still real hard and every time you stop it sticks again Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

Sounds like it didn't get any oil or lube during assembly. Time to take it back apart.

Thanks for the help . yes it looks like I’m gonna have to tear it apart completely. it has plenty assembly lube coming out of between the rods and the mains and has no spark plugs in it. cylinder walls look clean if you don’t pry it loose a little you can’t turn over with a half inch drive ratchet and a 4 foot cheater bar I thought it was tight because it was new I rolled over many many times oil in the crankcase oil the cylinders and every time to start out turning it over I’ve had to pry it loose when I stop and wait for a minute or two it has to be pried loose again I thought maybe someone on here might’ve heard someone having the same situation and something maybe put together wrong in the motor like I said thanks it looks like a complete tear down

If the engine was fine when it went together then try spraying the wrist pins and undersides of the pistons with penetrating lube. If those pins were clean and dry then they have oxidized with the aluminum pin bores.
Again assuming all your clearances were fine; you might be just a few squirts away from what the issue could be I’ve seen this plenty

Similar experience a while back. me and my father in law had a stuck boat motor. WD40 inside the spark holes and on the backs of the pistons, and once it freed up, it freed up. We started it up about two hours later.

Thanks guys for all the help I will try the WD-40 thing I have a pan off and the rods bolts are loose and I can see the bottom of the Pistons I don’t think the flexplate bolts or touching anything because I don’t hear grinding noise but I’ll check them or take them off I really appreciate all the help thanks a lot again

Dumb question. Were the bearing clearances confirmed upon assembly? This is to also include connecting rod side clearance and thrust bearing clearance. Should roll with little more than a standard 1/2 ratchet on the crank bolt if the plugs are out.

I’m glad to say the WD-40 worked but I thought it was such a good idea I sprayed PB blaster in the motor locked up tighter than when it was before so at least I know what my problem is. Like I said thanks for all the help.
