Made some progress this week Mostly just need to wire up the holley terminator x for this to be finished. Put in the fab 9. Still have to put the axles in once i get the brake backing plates off the 10 bolt axles. Down side, drive shaft from the blue car is almost 4 inches to short.
Update. This rear end was not built with the correct bolt pattern axle housings for stock backing plates. Strange race brakes ordered for correct Bolt pattern
New changes. Since 12 bolt in my blue car has 4.56 gears and that's what the motor combination seemed to want yet the 9" has 3.73 which is closet to what I want in a street car I swapped them. 9 inch in blue along with all strange brakes.
. Red car Is wired up. Has power to holley and spins over. I don't have gas in the tank yet, ordered a sending unit for the fuel tank. While tank is empty and the rear is still out for cleaning and painting I'll fix that first.
So next week off I'll fix sending unit and put rear in. Then it should be time to make noise
Darth comparing the "old" to "new" cams ... I snipped a bit for clarity...

* The new spec rebiases the overlap to the intake side by four degrees,
Old Cam: 246/262 112+4.5 so the overlap events are IVO at 15.5 BTDC, EVC at 14.5 ATDC
New Cam: 251/261 111.5+4.5, so the overlap events are IVO at 18.5 BTDC, EVC at 14.5 ATDC
I don't understand how overlap is biased to intake or exhaust, apparently. The old cam looks almost perfectly biased to me, 15.5 BTDC to 14.5 ATDC. I sure don't see it biased 4 degrees to the exhaust side.

What am I missing here?
I don't think you are missing a thing. You plotted the valve events (something I just got into doing; thanks Brian and Joe at Summit!) and the old cam is VERY close to centered. New cam IS INDEED biased to the intake.
So yeah, neither am I sure where Darth is coming from on the old one being exhaust biased, UNLESS he meant strictly in comparison to the new one.
Thanks. Even Darth’s own explanation on that thread doesn’t explain why he would call the 246/262 cam “exhaust biased”. I definitely can see that the 251/261 is intake biased, but so is the 246/262, with overlap of 15.5/14.5

Thanks to Project GatTagO,I got oil pressure. He helped me get it fired up yesterday for just 5 seconds since I don't have water in it yet. I have to get a fitting welded in the radiator to connect my steam port to.
I'll try to add the short clip to YouTube and post it
Sounds healthy Chad. You can run it for 30-45 seconds without worry. I’ve done it many times. Keep us posted.
I also don't have exhaust extensions so I didn't want to let it run to long for that. Rear end going in this weekend . Maybe tomorrow
exhaust extensions are being welded to the vbands so when I get them back I will be fine. I ordered a nipple to weld into radiator also for steam port to return to. I've been patient so hearing it crank gave me some new motivation.
I took my vbands and exhaust extensions to a local chassis builder to get welded so I'll have extensions. Also my radiator to get a bung welded on it to connect my steam port to. Once I get them back I'll be able to let run.
. I have the 12 bolt installed all accept my tq arm. It's being a pain in azz. Once that is in I have everything else I need to get car dialed in.
I didn't spend as much time on it as I'd hoped on this 28 days home but honestly I spent as much as I felt like doing. I have a week left before I go out for 28 days so I'll get the rear end finished today or tomorrow. (My blue car is out side until it's done so it has to be completed)
