Just discovered this thread. Great build. I think you'll be glad you went the 427 route. It's a great bore/stroke combo. I also think you'll be really glad you went with the LS3 heads. Cam looks like a great match for the build. I may have missed it, but what CR are you running?
I just installed the low profile sniper. So far I really like it. It enabled me to run stuff UNDER the manifold instead of over it, which greatly helped cleanup the engine bay. One thing also, I have the NW 102 throttle. The TB cam hits the intake plenum, so I can only get to 76% throttle. You may need about a 1/2" TB spacer unless you plan to run the sniper 105 throttle. I have a friend with a 105 sniper throttle and sniper low profile intake, and he had no issues with the throttle cam touching the plenum. Thought i'd mention it to get it on your radar.
thanks for the heads up on throttle body. I have a warr 102. I ended up at 11.8 compression with a .041 gasket/quench 0 deck
I wanted the .036 cometic gaskets but back order kept pushing back so I went .041 felpro mls

I ordered all my parts left that's needed. Will all be here Friday so this weekend I hope to have the engine complete and ready to put back in car.

Well valve covers hit the rocker arms so I had to order some spacers. Those will be in today but I'm at work on a boat until Tuesday. I will get those on that day and start making my custom plug wires.
went to put my ATI damper together and needed a odd T40PLUS torx bit. Had to order that also as no one local has those in stock.
aside from that, heads are bolted on and yella terra rocker arms are set at .005 lash with 3/8 pushrods in place .
Had to get spacers for valve cover and grind them to clear but they worked. I decided to wrap my kooks stainless headers and exhaust to the x pipe so I done that today tomorrow will be putting the engine on the kmember and getting everything bolted together
hopefully I get it in the car tomorrow and fire it up. I'm getting a bit excited yet nervous at same time

Got it almost ready to go back in today. The dart block didn't come with the dowel pins and I didnt notice until it's time to bolt up the transmission.
hopefully can find some tomorrow. If not it will be another week of work then come home and will have them.

We have exactly the same view on turbo vs NA builds and putting junk yard engines in cars bought new. I think the Dart SHP block is a great choice. I'm very happy with SBC Dart SHP in my 72 vette. Dart typically makes some excellent improvements over stock block. The extra .375 of cylinder sleeve will make for very stable pistons with a 4 inch stroker. The Dart LS SHP coming clearanced for up to a 4.1 stoke is pretty sweet too. Plus all the other good stuff.
Some of those LSX 427 twin turbo setups are so clean under the hood it's like they came that way off the show room floor. Only problem is the cost of that bad boy setup.
Do you expect the 200r4 to hold up to this new power as is or will it be getting more upgrades?
Other than a bell housing there really is no more upgrades. If it breaks again a 4l80 will take its place. But really it depends on tire shake, this is supposed to hold 1000 hp. Not with tire shake though

600 N/A with N2O on top of it is going to be very fun on the street.

Really doubt I do though, this thing should go off in the 9s and I'm just not willing at this time to do a roll cage. My kids still ride in the car and a cage may save me at a track but more dangerous on the street when helmets and harness not on.

I'm in the same boat wanting to go mid 8's on a boosted setup to avoid the 25 point cage. Looking into 10 points with swing outs knowing that the risk on the street with factory seat belts and no helm is there.

So the motor is in.been fighting the injectors leaking but finally got it stopped. Now battery is weak so its on charge for a little while.
spun over a bit last night with fuel pump fuse pulled to build oil pressure but it hasn't moved up yet. Just gonna crank it and let it build on it's own. I did prelube first.
coil pack on passenger side was to close to heater core with nice pretty tall covers so I swapped back to stock and spacers 3/4 " tall. They still dont sit right because rear coil is ro close to heater hose.
I jump started it. Sounded good for the 20 seconds or so I let it run. Gauges on dash wasnt working so I shut it off and battery got weak.
