Was it set at 24 because it wasn't really making any power beyond that, or is there some other reason? Another thing I've noticed is that really good heads don't need as much timing. I wouldn't be surprised if more timing does absolutely nothing for performance

It was just set at 24 to have a safe start to dyno tuning. Never got a chance to do that, so I'm going to bump it up to 26 and do some street pulls to test. It probably won't be worth a ton, but even 5 rwhp is worth it if it's safe. I'll get it back on a dyno to see the difference soon.

Yeah as long as you know that it's completely safe then why not. Plus acceptable max timing on the street might be a little less than on the dyno. I know it was in my case

I was also going to mention more timing is not always more. My Mamo heads only wanted 23 degrees with the fast intake. I could run 26 without Kr but made best power at 23.

Oddly enough, went to msd intake and it liked 26.

That's interesting. I wondered what timing you were running. I didn't recall seeing that in your thread, but there is a TON of info in there. The 24 may be fine, it certainly pulls a lot harder than my last combo. Do you know what AFR you were running at WOT?

That's true too. My last setup did best with 29 degrees, but that was a lower compression build.

Yup. 12.7 at peak torque and 13.0 at peak power.

Thanks for the info brother, I appreciate it. I can't wait to get back to the dyno to finish the tune. I think I have the exhaust issue ironed out.

I bumped my timing to 26* and made a few street runs today. Felt good and there was no knock. Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the interest. I was surprised to see the thread pop back up! I have no new dyno numbers yet, just the 450/400 it did on the Mustang dyno in October. I have done some additional track tuning though. So far my best time is an 11.73 at 122.4 mph in the 1/4. That is with a 1.97 60' on my 315/35 18 Toyo TQ drag radials. The DA was about 1500 at the time of the run. I haven't weighed the car yet, but I expect that it's at least as heavy as stock. The little weight reduction I've done has been offset by the rear, larger wheels, heavier aftermarket heads and intake, and of course the sub and amp in the rear. It was raced as I drive it on the street.

Out of curiosity did you notice a slight drop in your oil pressure after using those 2110 lifters? Mine dropped just the slightest bit warm idle at 25 - 28 psig WOT goes over 60psig. We have such similar builds lol, I haven't ran mine at the track yet but on the street it has held its own.

Yep, my idle oil pressure is a bit lower than it was with the stock lifters, but it's still 40+ at idle and 80+ at high RPM. I do have a ported LS6 pump, though, so that may have an impact.
