LS cranks don't have woodruff keys. That's why some people pin them when they use a blower.

That was not the case with the ls6 I just rebuilt. Had early head bolt design and later cam bearing design as it was a crossover year block.

Thats odd cause I just read an LS rebuild book and they talked about installing them.

Are You sure? OP said something about TSP crank. You must have only seen stock cranks.

Idk about stock cranks if they have then or not but the crank I was referring to is a tsp 4" forged crank and that has the key slots. I do know the stock crank in the original ls1 I had didn't come with them from factory. And as for the head bolts there is the like 2 or 3 different revisions from my understanding. You just gotta shove a piece of metal in there and see if there the same length or not.
