Default Cam Selection

I've narrowed down my choices for a new cam and would like your input. What would you choose and why?

My current cam is a Comp Cams with XE-R lobes, 220/224, .581/.581, 112 LSA, -2° overlap.

I'm looking to maximize midrange. A nasty idle is a must. I would also like a little more spring friendly lobe design.

See my signature for the details of my truck and engine.

Here are the cams I've narrowed it down to.

1. Current Cam Specs, 220/224, .600/.600, 108 LSA, 6° overlap.
2. TSP 228/232, .600/.600, 112 LSA, 6° overlap.
3. TSP Torquer V2, 232/234, .600/.600, 113 LSA, 7° overlap.
4. TSP Stage 2 LS3, 229/236, .629/.615, 112 LSA, 8.5° overlap.
5. New Era Street Sweeper HT, 228/232, .600/.612, 111 LSA, 8° overlap.

You should just talk with a cam company that does custom grinds. Tell them what you want and be done with it.

Call Cam Motion. The are known for making cams with "easy" lobes that still perform well.

Of the ones on your list, streetsweeper HT gets my vote. SNS2 posted above is also a great choice. Not on your list but worth a look, tick ls2 street heat, cam motion titan 4 and 5.

As to making it sound nasty that can be done with tuning, so I would personally do titan 4 for all around best cam then make your adaptive spark really aggressive to make it thump harder.

What are your goals for the truck?
Its an extended cab with 33" tires, has an ls rear with low gears, 3200 stall along with a fairly decent built engine, but weighs a bunch so it won't be a street/strip terror.
And on the other hand that stall and engine combo won't be all that useful for 4 wheeling.
Just asking.

It's a large diameter stall so is extremely street and low RPM friendly. It's mostly a street truck that will see the occasional dirt drag or trip to the strip.

I vote ssht out of the cams you listed. Also the cam motion Titan 4. Maybe a tsp 228r and have it ground on a 110 lsa. Or go custom grind.
