Tell us more. A LOT more. What did the engine come out of? Where are the knock sensors and cam sensor? What color is the crank sensor plug? Answering these questions will enable us to help you.

That's a 5.3L and the HL124 lifters will work

Sorry if I sounded a little hard-core above, but the OP should know a little more. It's a 5.3, but Gen III or IV? Or even V? It will help if he needs other parts.

No Knocksensor at the timing cover. LS3 block number 12567392 should be a 5.3.
24x relucter Wheel on the crankshaft.
I don`t understand the differences between the two lifters. Melling produce only one sort of lifter for replacement. So why do acdelco produce two different lifters?

They might have made an improvement or some sort of change along the way. The common lifter used lately is referred to as the LS7 lifter.
If you have a 24x reluctor it is a Gen III 5.3, likely an LM7.
The knock sensors would be under the intake manifold on that. Gen IV engines moved them to the sides of the block.
Your cam sensor should be at the rear of the top of the block, close to the oil pressure sender.
It is a cast iron block, right?

Yes that’s all corect. The knock sensors are in valleys under the intake mainafold. The camsensor on top at the back of the engine.
But the interesting thing ist all that info’s are useless to find the right lifter. I have a laser stamp on the left backside c71164469.
summit racing gave me same info but didn’t told me if this is to combinat with this number.
You will need to research the engine you are using to determine the correct one.

HL124 is for Engine Designation: -, Engine VIN: 3. HYD, ROLLER, NON-ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT LIFTER

HL128 is for Engine Designation: LS4, Engine VIN: C. NON-ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT LIFTER

so I don’t what engine designation mean?

The Ls4 designation was used for 5.3l engines built for and installed into front wheel drive cars. If I remember correctly there is something different about the block casting. It is an aluminum casting.

It is decently iron block.

If you do indeed have a Gen III 5.3l block... either HL124 or HL128 will work. Purchase which ever you can get for less $. Either will work and the engine will run the same with either installed,no difference.
The number etched into the block is just an identifier number like a serial number. No use for you really.
