Default Does anybody plan on swapping to LS2 intake?

When it becomes available? Wonder if this would do any good on a stock cube motor vs the LS6 intake? Or even a H/C 346?

Whos gonna jump?

if the cost is a little more than the LS6 I'll probably jump on it. I'll have to see some official flow numbers on the LS2 heads before switching my plans for patriot stage 2's

I would, but all's I have is a block, injectors, fuel rails, gaskets, and sump. no matter what I still need to buy an intake and I've pretty much settled on going with an LS6, but if the LS2 intake has significantly higher numbers and only a little higher in cost (maybe $100 tops) I'd seriously consider it.

I'm waiting. Haven't been conviced that the FAST intake / 90mm TB is worth ~$1400 for maybe gaining a few HP. Seems like some gain, but some show nothing. Plus I have concerns about sealing issues with the FAST. My plan is for the LS2 intake and a TPIS 90mm throttle body.

what he said, only I'll stay with the 80MM BBK I have now.....

the FAST would be nice but at $1400 it is NOT worth the cost to me.

Heres the skinny...on the flow bench the LS2 dosen't "flow" any more air over an LS6 on a single runner test, but on a dyno test average gains have been 12-16 HP over an LS6 on a good heads\cam 346. The HP gain is due to a little difference in plenum design and the 90mm T\B setup. They are a 3 piece design and use the same 4-bolt flange layout as a FAST\TPIS 90mm so they will bolt right up. So I feel that they will be a good mod for the money spent.

I bet the LS2 intake won"t cost that much more then the ls6 since it comes from GM.GM is not out to make a killing like FAST, plus the consumer is not paying for the R&D of this product. This will be a stock replacement part for all the new LS2 cars and hopefully fairly priced .Thats interesting Allen that the LS2 don"t flow more air but makes more hp.THANKS for the great info,BTW your engines ROCK!!!

From the dyno charts I've seen on the Corvette Forum it makes a bunch more power and torque below the peak #'s vs the LS6 or LS1. It looks like the manifold is probably responsible for most of the improvement to the powerband. So its not always about peak flow #'s.

How soon are the LS2's going to start showing up??

The LS2 is .3L larger, of course it will make more power down low.

These dyno #'s your talking about, they were tested on an LS1 / LS6 car?

On a 346 road race engine with a ZO6 manifold the flywheel HP went from 523 peak to 540 peak with the manifold and 90mm TB. The early gains are not there on the one I tested, the gains were mostly above 4500 rpm. It looked to me like the 90mm TB was responsible for most of the gain.

The manifold will fit anywhere a LS6 will, although the newer breather coming out of the valley cover may need some modification.

Would a stock tb bolt right up, or will that have to be modified?

The intake has a 4 bolt pattern. The bottom two are the same as old bolt pattern but the top has two on same pattern as lower. FAST throttlebody has the right pattern or i'm sure an adapter plate could be made.

This is a very interesting post, I think that it would probably be a decent increase over the LS6 intake for a minimum cost
