Those YT are Gen I and might be 10 years old, even more...I am currently running their Gen III up to 7700 rpm since 20000 miles...

Thanks for the help guys. I think I’m just going to try the YT gen 3’s and see what happens.

Seeing pictures like that would make me replace all of the Gen 1 YT's with newer Gen 3's.

My pet choice for aluminum roller rockers is a set of Jesel roller rockers rated for #900+ pounds of spring pressure with a set of ~400 pound pressure springs.

YT offers different models of their rockers to suit your valvespring setup. Check out their different series or models and make sure your ordering the right stuff, for what valvespring your running.
Gen1 YT were notorious for breaking. Gen2 was better. Gen3 they got it right. I run the Gen3’s with a big solid roller setup.

Thanks for that information. I looked on Yella Terra’s sight and they do have different models. The ones I was planning to order are p/n yt6645 and they are only rated to 400 lbs. open spring pressure. I have no idea what my open spring pressure is. I never had it checked. I’m running a dual valve spring set-up rated to .650 lift. Any ideas on whether I’d be over that or close. I know I’m going to have to get that figured out before I order a set.

Perhaps you can take a good guess at what spring you have by determining what cam your running. Do you know what cam is in the engine?

Are you running these Gen3's on a cathedral head or the LS3/L92 style heads?

Im running the vengeance racing vrx5 cam. The heads were set up for their vindicator cam which is a bigger cam than the vrx5. I’m guessing I’m right at 400 lbs open spring pressure. Do you know which part number rockers you’re running and what your open spring pressure is on your set-up.

I’m running the 6750 UltraLite Pro adjustable with 10mm bolt option. These are built just for Tony Mamo, for his setups. Don’t recall exact spring numbers, but Tony set them up...along with the YT rockers...to live with the solid roller he spec’ed for my build. Not much help here for you...

Most shelf aftermarket springs will put you at 380-425 open pressure at 650 lift

Do you know whose springs they are? If so, you can figure it out if you know what heads you have and what modifications have been made to them, if any.

Those are in fact the much older design that were prone to some failure.....its ancient history now but those rockers are likely a decade old or more

Go with the newer design YT's and you wont have an issue....I run them on just about every combo I build and design for many good reasons (cathedral, LS3, LS7 etc.)

I have them in stock if you need anything......just PM or shoot me an email and I will get you taken care of

Regards,
Tony

I had yella terra's on my TFS 235 heads on a 427. I think they were the 2nd gen but I'm not sure. Ran them from 2009 through the beginning of 2018 without an issue. Had an unrelated issue with the motor.

I went ahead and bought the tsp 1.7 steel roller rocker arms. Now I need to figure out how to adapt the stock Ls1 rocker stands to the trick flow heads and hope I get a good wipe pattern. I read that shimming the stands isn’t recommended. I hope I just get lucky. Maybe someone who’s done this will chime in.
