Damn it's pretty light.

Is the only weight reduction the tubular suspension? Bumper bars taken out? A/C?

Yep and no a/c, no cruise, no heat, pin on hood... Guess its a little more than basic weight reduction. Currently missing some interior parts and rear seats but has full carpet and power driver seat standard pass seat. I have a Kirkey seat for it, if I had another shot at the track this season I would be stripping what ever else I could out and making a run for 6s and 10s just ran out of time with the rear end swap. Need to delete abs also not sure what the savings are on that but no use for it anymore.

Abs module delete is 10lbs. Passenger side air bag is like 14 or 17 iirc if its not already out

Plan on building that 4l60e or swapping to something else if you want to make full use of that cams powerband.

This one has been built, supposed to be able to handle 5-600hp buttt we will see if it actually holds up.

I don't disagree I think it would love some spray but I've never been a fan of it, I wouldn't be surprised if it got a kit at some point. I could see turbo down the road but I've done the turbo thing before and want to do something different.

I was messing around about the nitrous really. But it sure would run it's *** of with a little bit of it.

Not sure if you've ever ran nitrous or not, I meet a lot of people that hate it that have never had it, most people I know that have had it or do have it like it. I liked it, my only complaint was having to pull the damn bottle in and out all the time having it filled. Other than that I loved it. Full disclosure though, once I went turbo I did not miss the nitrous, except the hit, I loved the violent hit of a good size shot

I like this car combo, it sounds a lot like one of my favorite magazine articles where The School of Automotive Machinists made a 99(?) camaro run 10.80s on the stock 5.7 engine with a cam swap, some careful tuning, making the car lighter, that sort of thing. I wish I could find the article, I think it was Hot Rod Magazine circa 2003 or so.

One thing I would think could have a lot of value to your car would be some data logging, if your ECU can do it or get a stand-alone piece. That being said, you don't run 7.07 in the 1/8 NA on pump gas without doing something right, good job so far.

I have never run nitrous but I see my friends that do every other week "who's filling bottles" "so and so is out where can I get a bottle filled" I live kind of on the outskirts of town so for me being busy with my circle track car and other things it would be hard for me to keep up on. That's my biggest hold up, I totally get the benefits of it but its not enough to make up for the headache.

I've always wanted to mess with a na set up. I've always been the guy who got the "he's going that fast with that?!?" kind of thing so running with FI or spray cars na is all me haha.

Well I damn sure dig that so doing the heads and intake like you've planned is perfect. Next thing is start getting more weight off the car. Time to get the hole saw out

Maybe fab up some light weight bumper supports, look for some wilwood or aerospace brakes used to save on cost and shed some lbs... kirkey seat..

I had a buddy that pulled all the wiring out of his car and clipped off all the wires that weren't necessary for the car to run and also hole sawed the car up quite a bit. Things like the core support and front frame rails.. It was a bit extreme but I believe it went 10's on stock long block. That was many many years ago so it's hard to recall.

Even if left as is though, it's pretty damn light.

Edit: I just watched your videos again and man that is a really uneventful 1.4x 60 foot and 11.1 pass lol. Meaning the car looks like it makes the pass effortlessly and just kinda moseys it's way to those times. Which are still crazy for a stock head and intake car. Just shows how damn good the LS6 stuff is out of the box.

Yea its not really a wild ride by any means. But track wasn't great that day was there with some no prep type buddies that were struggling some to get down the track, they are running in the 5s so bit different but they were pretty shocked when the car just hooked and went. I'm on a 28" tire so I assume its a bit more tire than I really need but seems to like it.

I plan to get more weight out of it also, I know I have a good amount of extra wiring I don't need along with abs and can skim out the interior among other things. There was a local guy that had a lexan rear window for sale need to see if I can track that down. I don't want to ruin the car in the process if possible though lol

That sounds like a real good plan. And ruin it? Eh it's already a race car anyway lol. Kidding aside, I def understand what you mean.
