LIFTERS, having a hard time finding good ones
It's not hard to find a good lifter. GM makes decent lifters, Isky makes good lifters, morel makes good lifters, johnson makes good lifters, some cam manufacturers get their lifters from these companies and private label them like lunati/morel.
People here trying to save a buck getting lifters that dont even fit? Jesus christ are you kidding me? Go buy the right stuff and treat your car right or go buy a new factory car that's already fast. Smh.

There are discussions on this happening with other brand lifters also in an LS engine, it depends primarily on the engine year and small variations rather than the lifters from what I have read.
The 2148 SE lifters and trays cost me $500 AUD not exactly cheap.

Do you know the recommended preload for those lifters with a iron block-aluminum heads?
.030 preload is standard for them mine varied from .025 to .045 pre load, the 2148 SE are an SBC lifter with iron block so should work well with your application, they are the only lifter around $230 USD designed for dual springs & 6500 + rpm suitable for an LS.

If the lifter is too tight for the block, I'd suspect the block is slightly off vs the lifter being off. Lots of these engines have slightly out of round cylinder bores. If GM couldn't get a big hole round I doubt they could get a small hole round either.
how are yours doing now?
