Default Too good to be true?

In the past few days, I've been going over head options and I've narrowed my search down a bit! I'm shopping for 243 heads and came across these,
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F142469376692
does anyone have any experience or input regarding these?
Thanks Jesse

The flow ratings on them are bogus. They're not hitting 300 CFM on a 210cc head that hasn't been CNC ported with some wizardry.

Thanks! Even if they don't flow as listed, how are they so cheap?

ebay sort of flooded with them

That's roughly the same flow as stock 243s.

They're cheap, because the castings can be bought directly from China for a couple hundred bucks bare.

Ya. They had a better than oem valve job. Which if the port is completely stock is about right on the flow numbers

Yeah...

I've been looking at those, and they always give me a chuckle.

Chinese copy-cat reverse-engineered crap. Probably with some inferior aluminum alloy and lousy casting method, and seats that will fall out if you slightly overheat, lulz.

no thanks.

I kind of figured the castings were coming from China, does that mean they are no good thou? I’ve looked up QualCast and come up with minimal information other then Nashville based.
I'm not looking for super crazy flowing heads for this project, just something done and easy.

I'd spend that $800+ elsewhere on known quality parts.

A set of stockers with somebody's CNC port job would likely be a great deal better and less risky than that sort of thing. Katech, Frankenstein, Texas Speed, TEA, etc. all have various programs optimized for various purposes, at competitive prices. CNC by itself in the $500 - 750 range, plus of course any other work like seats or decking. There's quite a few out there. I think you'd be better off going that route than a bunch of cheeeeeep chinesium (or malaysium or thailandium or whateverium) knockoffs.

thanks for the input guys, I truly appreciate it! I’m not looking for anything super crazy, just better then what I’ve currently got. Even if I go with a cleaned up set of stock 243 or 799 heads I’m better off then the eBay special.

The castings themselves are fine. I'm not sure how much they can be ported, though.
Qualcast uses the same castings that about 60 other places sell, Speedmaster (Pro Comp) included.

Thanks for the input!
I don’t mind the leg work that includes, finding stock heads, going to the machine shop, picking peoples brains, catching up with local gossip and general poop talking, but......... sometimes after 60 hour work week on other people’s vehicles it’s nice to just hit BIN and have everything delivered to my front door.
I’m glad I started this thread because I’m positive there’s more guys out there like me that wonder!
