That seems like a lot of cam for a 5.3 with an auto trans. What compression are you running?

I wouldnt buy a cam that doesnt give the specs....
The first cam you listed will have a good chop to it
the summit 8704 cam would be a good cam if your only concern was "CHOP"
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-8704
Im NOT recommending that cam, just saying it would do what you want lol so would a ton of other cams, but your gonna need a decent tuner to make them drive ok.
sounds like your more concerned with the way it sounds than how it performs?

A tip for you- don't buy a cam for sound. Get the cam that gets your engine where you want it to be. The sound will take care of itself. Cam sound is about nothing but posing.

Hey there, it sounds like you want some chop! As other have said, you can definitely ruin driveability if you run too big of a cam, but we have an option for you. Our stage 4 SUM-8714 Truck cam has a 41 degree intake closing point to maintain your torque in the mid-range. Where it gets the chop is from it's 5 degree BTDC intake opening point. This is a reasonable number and not too hard to tune around. Next up is the exhaust opening point which is a little later than our automotive cams to boost low end torque. Lastly we've set the exhaust closing at -1 degree so we net 4 degrees of overlap. The cam has .545 lift and works with inexpensive LS6 valve springs. This cam would like a 3000 stall, but you could run a little less than that if you don't mind that "getting up on the cam" feel.

Since it's going in a car... well el camino call it what you want lol, with a 3000-3500 stall i'd pick a cam in the low to mid 220's intake, around 230 duration, around 600 lift and close to 112 LSA. There's a million cams out there so it's hard to narrow down just one for you.
The cam summit posted should work well, the guy that posts here knows far more than me about specific valve events so if he recommends a cam, I'd feel very comfortable with the recommendation.

Picking a cam just for sound only works well for boost lol.
They can have some pretty bad N/A results. The Thumpr cam line is definitely not known for power.
I'd go with something that has a bit higher lift.

Stock heads will work great with a .550 lift cam. You wont likely flow much more to .600 and your spending more energy pushing the valve down and not gaining any power which can actually reduce power and worst case make air turbulent. Chop is a product of valve overlap . More overlap more chop. Most people like to compare overlap at .050 lift to determine potential driveability, character and chop. To figure this out you take the .050 numbers ((intake+exhaust) / (2)) - (2(LSA)). Your tuner can also play with the sound a bit. As do some other things like valve size. Anyways, most performance cams will have a nice chop to them and too much chop is too much overlap and it will sound nasty but run like a dog. In short, everyone will make fun of you and its lame. I'd find a cam that offers the best gains in the RPM range of your overall combo and it will sound how it sounds. Wont sound stock for sure. A larger case magnaflow style muffler will help create that big block sound too.
