Smoke on hard acceleration
I am sure this topic has been beat to death, but on hard acceleration I have what seems to be smoke puff coming out. The car has 45,000 miles and has been meticulously maintained. I do not have a catch can installed and I have heard that can help. what are you thoughts. Car runs perfect, but the puff of smoke is driving me crazy
mods:
2001 camaro Ls1
full headers deleted cats and all emissions related
ls6 intake
ported and polished TB
Professional tune
lid
Fast Toys ram air kit
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
If thats the case it points to valve seal(s)........because when you first hit the throttle you get a big drop in pressure under your valve covers and that sucks oil through the bad valve seals......but then the pressure equalizes and it stops pulling oil trough....thats why you just get a puff, and then it goes away as you continue to accelerate.
A constant trail of smoke usually means bad rings.
