The tuner also recommended a SD tune for this setup. After researching HPtuners a bit, it seems like an SD tune may be less time consuming since you would skip the whole MAF tuning step? Or would he end up spending the same amount of time to get the VE tables dialed in better than if doing a MAF tune?
More back and forth, talked to my tuner today and he recommended a BTR stage 2 (227/238 .620"/.605" 113.5+2.5). Now it just happens that a good deal on a used one popped up. Any thoughts on that cam for our driveability goals? It has a good bit more duration than the others we were looking at. We don't want to sacrifice the street manners to save a few bucks.
We did also decide to do the oil pump, timing chain, and valve seals while we're in there.
Also most seem to be recommending dual springs, is there a major downfall to beehives that I'm missing?

Thanks to everyone that provided input! I'm sure I'll have a few more questions along the way. This will be our first time doing the cam swap with heads on, and doing valve springs and seals. The videos look easy enough, but everything is a pain on the back cylinders under the cowl.
