Default Bad 243 heads?

Recently bought a set of stage 2.5 243 heads(seasoned castings) for my 01 SS... They were milled to 58cc, the concern is the deck surface has what looks like pitting or some chipping from debris that got sucked into the combustion chamber in there former life?

Am concerned it will be a issue...
any guidance would be appreciated

It does look they came from a motor that had something let go.

The deck almost looks like it has porosity from welding. When they milled it that much, it likely exposed the porosity.

I would have some reservations about bolting them on as is.
If it was me, I would call around some machine and cylinder head shops in your area. Find one that can pressure test them.

My heads that I just had machined look like that in one chamber, specifically because I had a piston/rod let go. Me, I would run that all day long. However, it would be smart to get them pressure tested beforehand.

Thanks for all the input really appreciate it...

Luckily The company I bought them from is willing to take them back so ill be sending these back...

I could get them pressure tested and they may be fine but id have better peace of mind with a clean cylinder head

It has been repaired but if it's straight and true it will run fine. It's not something to worry about, maybe take little piece of sandpaper and finger sand off the sharp edge from the corner of the head face and combustion chamber, just a bit, don't go crazy.

It looks like they had some welding done in the past. Id run them as is personally and clean up that 1 spot. Id also use some cooper spray or permatex gasket spray that would fill in very minute imperfections and bolt it on and go. They can be welded and filled in again and machined but I think it would be a waste for whats there.

I think it would be ok to run IF you got a screaming deal. If their new-ish from a well named company then send that **** back for a refund

What does a deal have to do with this? There is an obvious problem….
