Default Help with comp R's!

Someone has to know of a cold setting on the comp R's. It says pre load of 2-4 thou. Hot. But setting them up cold, whats the magic number? The grow rate on the block can't be that different from engine to engine. I have adj. shaft mounts so I want to get them right. Someone has to have done enough of them to know what to set them up cold. Thanks Andy.

Go to advanced search "Comp R" in the internal section. There is quite a few threads on this.

1/4 to 1/2 a turn is what I turned up when I searched for this info. I have done two motors this way and it was succesfull. The only way to tell how much preload you have is to put a dial indicator on the rocker just over the pushrod and measure when you tighten it past 0 lash.

.010 cold works fine. Have spun my car to 7000 on the dyno with them a number of times.
