MTI sent us the wrong cam??? Please MTI respond!!
Check out the cam card above........
#8 which had 223 intake duration. The valve lifts were also off on some of the intake valves .576 vs .571. Kind of weird. So I called and talked with wayne and he confirmed they had a batch of bad grinds...and I was unlucky enought to get a 2nd one. So they are overnighting another StealthII cam. Wayne said they would check it before sending it to make sure it was ok. I am looking forward to getting the car back together and running right. The only way to know if a vendor is good is to have problems and see how they handle them. MTI is by far the best experience I have had when it comes to handling problems. I have dealth with Rick, Wayne and David...and they all are really helpful. I am just glad I am not the only one with these troubles. I thought I was going mad and have lost my ability to read a degree wheel, or my dial indicator gauge is going bad. I repeated the measurments and just kept scratching my head. Glad to know I am not going crazy.
I'm sending them the cam back!!
What I want is a REAL Stealth II on XE-R lobes. And I want it ground by COMP CAM and not LUNATIC
They have done enough damage with those grinds.I'll see what MTI has to say or offer, but no way i'm putting that cam in.
It appears that our cam supplier has once again dropped the ball and for that I'm going to personally apologize.
We've invested a great deal of time, energy and money trying to make sure that everyone that had an issue with the original batch of incorrect cams got the correct grind and being made aware of issues like this yet again are as frustrating for me as they are for our valued customers.
Effective immediately, we are switching production of our Stealth I and Stealth II cams to Comp Cams and I will be contacting everyone directly who has been affected by this to get the correct cams in your hands asap.
Please bear with us as we work through this and you have my personal guarantee that we will resolve this to your complete satisfaction.
Sincerely,
David Coates

My Comp SSII performs and runs AWESOME! I'm glad to see MTI going back to Comp for the Stealth cams.

Back to the way things should be
Paul
They have changed the specs on their web to 224/220, .581/.581 116lsa so no more split lifts. This one should rock.
