Broken valve spring
Or can I just put compressed air in the cylinder and change it?

First time I replaced valve springs in LS, I discovered that the shop air valve was closed: zero airflow to cylinder.
I had done 3 cylinders, luckily I was at TDC on each, and the valve seals were tight, none of the valves dropped... the next 5 cylinders I set regulator down at 40 PSI..
The next 2 valve spring changes I DID replace the seals, and used small air pressure, at TDC.
