Default 1.85 rockers.. is it possible to....

Ok, i have an ASA cam in my car (226/236 .525/.525 on a 110LSA)... im wondering if it is theoretically possible to put on 1.85 rockers with a completely stock engine. Will there be P/V clearance issues? I roughly figured out the total lift with the 1.85's.. i figure lift will jump from .525 to .571-.572.... Is this an issue? Ive seen people run .58x lift cams on a stock engine before. What will the 1.85's do to duration? Basically, all im asking is... Can i put SLP 1.85 rockers on a car with the ASA cam?

Well, P/V clearence issues aside, (because I simply don`t know) as long as your valve springs could handle the lift, sure. If you are using a LS6 valve spring, I would have to say no, based on the MAX lift #`s I`ve seen with them. To the best of my knowledge, rockers won`t do anything to affect duration, only lift. I`m no cam/valve train expert though, just trying to help. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

High-ratio rockers will not do anything to affect advertised duration, but they will slightly increase the duration @ .006" and at .050". In effect, the high-ratio rockers change the cam into a "fast-ramp" design, similar to the XE-R lobes.

I'm running 1.8 rockers on a 525/532 cam along w/ milled heads and haven't had any problems. You should be just fine IMO.
