@Che70velle Isn't it amazing how the crickets have taken over since the hardness tests pointed to a bad lobe, and the springs test came back fine? Turns out he was right. I set the springs up at 1.760" thinking they may lose some tension in a high miles situation, and that .040" less height might help. If anything CONSTRUCTIVE can be learned here, it may be this; when you start putting out 600+hp, with .600"+ lift cams, maybe NO CAM MANUFACTURER can design a cam good for 50,000+ miles. There's a reason almost ALL the OEM's have abandoned high HP N/A engines in favor of boost. Food for thought. In closing, I hope this thread has helped someone....

I will say I learned something. Thanks for taking the time to do the extensive testing to get to the bottom of this.

I’ve read back through this thread multiple times Mike, and I just don’t see where you’ve insulted or attacked anyone. I ASSume your short replies early in the thread must have caused a couple members here to feel insulted? Idk. Thin skin I guess…
You did what you said and had all the components tested which showed us the smoking gun here…even managed to impress Tony, who I’m thankful to, for sticking around in here amid all the circus stuff, when I know he doesn’t have the time to post on here at all. He’s one of our last resident professional engine guys still helping around here. I always trust what TurboBuick6 has to say at PAC….he’s a smart dude also who doesn’t hesitate to continue to help forum members here. Also a shout out to Jacob aka DarthV8R, who has immense experience with metal composition and makeup. As you stated, hopefully this thread can help others in the future, from a research and troubleshooting standpoint.
