Which of these cams is likely to make the most power with supported mods on a 6 speed ls1 vehicle?

The dynamometer results section of this forum goes back to 2001. Try a search, and you just might find actual numbers and power curves to compare.

What about the T-REX camshaft of the same vintage? What are we trying to do?

hey yeah i forgot about that one ive been around since 2008 already had a 95z28 with bolts ons, 410s, 6speed and 98 z28 6 speed with headers, 3" x pipe dumps, ud pulley and a smaller 218/228 bullit cam with manley titanium retainer dual springs. I had a 99 corvette 3.15 performance axle package stock converter with headers, exhaust, cai and en elgin 220/224 1839 with pac 1219s in 2022. Those i had picked the smaller cam because of the stock converter and was 19 when i had the 98 z28. I since bought a GTO 04 ls1 with ls6 intake and the m12 or c5 z06 geared 6 speed transmission and looking for the larger 400+whp cam only type of cam. I use to live close to san antonio raceway so i dont mind a bigger cam but the tracks since closed. Ive always seen the bigger cammed cars make higher hp or run a faster et.

The polluter i seen made 416whp on an 01 trans am from the website. Just dont wont to flycut the pistons or remove the heads.

lol what size? I wanted to keep stock heads? Ive already had a stock 98 z28 i put small bullit cam, ud pulley, hooker headers 375whp tq and 114-116mph and a s475 turbo 6lbs made 501whp 465wtq on mustang dyno. With 9lbs in 40 degrees midnite weather ran 128-131mph stock longblock except cam and springs.

Looking for a cam only type of mods. Theres my ets from 2012

I would say the streetsweeper. A 5.7L corvette with heads made over 500whp years ago. And a c5 z06 with untouched 243s made 455whp. An ls1 with stock 241s should make 425whp with the streetsweeper and 400whp with the streetsweeper HT. Instead of 236/240 duration, I would ask Ed to cut it on a 236/244 for even more hp

All these old cam names popping up, let's not forget about the "Juggernaut" cam (LG G5X4), and the "Ron Jeremy" cam (Futral F15)!! 2 classics for sure!!

Ran an England Green Mayhem 2 cam on my Firehawk but these were in the vintage consideration! Especially the G5X2

G5X2 was a great cam! So was the G5X3...which its specs have been copied and reused many times over by almost everyone in this industry. There are many great older cams out there that are still viable today!

Agreed. I despise the lazy “stage 47” approach to naming.

Cam name, specs and design used to be an art…. Now it’s “Stg 2, .600 lift” across the board.

Agreed. The stage stuff is silly.
