I used Vinci's (Crane) tool for my double spring swap. It worked really well.
Made switching two springs at the same time a snap.

Make your own. Took me 10 min and about $1 worth of steel bar stock. I haven't found a tool yet that works any better (that also doesn't cost $100+).

Vinci "VHP" valve spring tool available on web www.vincihiperformance.com Beware of home made lever type tools. They place serious load on the pivot bolt or stud boss and can bend small daimeter valves and crack valve guides.

I must say that i am very impressed, I could not keep the inner spring in. In fact, one time I was trying to tighten it down and it just blasted off and hit me right in the eye (luckily i wear glasses and unfortunately they are expensive). So i took a said a few choice words, threw the tool, and took a break. Came back 5 minutes later and still couldnt get it to work. I spent of a total of 2 hours trying to get it to compress the dual springs . So i said forget it and ordered the vinci tool . The only complaint i had with it (vinci tool) was that fact that it is black and all of it comes off after the first couple of springs.

Dont get me wrong, the KD tool is a great, inexpensive tool for single springs, but i couldnt get it to work on the duals.

I bought one of the generic valve spring crowbar type spring tools to cut off, but i was afraid i was going to break a bolt off. So, i just decided to pay the extra money for the correct tool for added insurance.

i thought they meant it risks breaking off a bolt when using it to pry. either way, i had good luck with it.

If you use a 8mm stud and nut arrangment on the homemade tools you won't break a bolt off or stress the threads in the head .
