Default cam purchase

I have had my car stock for some time now, and I just want more power. I've researched on the popular cams. If i was to get a cam which would be best for a true daily driver and what else do i need to purchase to make my system sound. I also want to be able to tell a difference.

there is no best all around, i have heard that the tr224 is the most used for people who want a simple cam upgrade. will make much more power than stock and will have a nice lil lope to it if you want it! but like everyone else said, just do the search lol

I just had the TSP228R cam package installed. Along with the install I added long tubes, pulley and a Magnaflow catback. Once I get over 3500K it pulls real hard and just keeps pulling. The new set up with the dual springs, pushrods, titanium retainers just feels so much better than stock. I am very happy with the performance.

I like the cam and I think it will be more fun to drive when I get some gears. Currently I am running 3.42's stock 10 bolt. I was on the fence about cams, but I feel I made the best decesion for me. The car is more a toy and gets driven to work on occasion. If it was a true daily driver in heavy traffic I would have gone smaller. I recommend going for a ride in cars with different cams. Some people can tolerate a lot more than others. Just a personal preference.

I will also suggest the TR224 114 LSA for your needs. It will idle great and smooth with the 114LSA. The 112LSA i'm running will lope a little harder and the idle quality will be slightly worse but I like it that way. Thunder has some very good cam packages you can put together that include everything you will need. What current mods do you have? Also save some $ for an LS1 Edit tune after the cam is installed as it's a night and day driving difference after being tuned. I attached my stock head TR224 dyno sheet....... Mods are in sig except I was running stock 241 heads and a Hooker ORY with open QTEC. Notice how no lowend power was lost with the open QTEC @ ORY.
