sounds like you have everything. make sure you get a gasket and bolt kit while you're at it. don't want to forget that

i would suggest some mechanics gloves (maybe kind of a gay thing, but it saved my hands from a lot of cuts. Also, I can grip better with them, therefore it is easier to break bolts free. For instance, when i was getting my crank pulley off I had my hand the wrong way and i fractured one of my carpals, at least it sounded and felt like it)

I would also visit JMX's www.ls1howto.com to get the rest of the list of the odds and ends like anti-seize, gasket maker, loc-tite.

I would go ahead an buy some new spark plugs (and plug wires if you want), since they will already be out and all. just dont be an idiot like me and put loc-tite on them. I was paying attention to what i was doing and put it on them (yeah...that is going to suck later)

A degree wheel would also be good to verify you are at TDC to be on the safe side. Majority of people just line them up dot to dot, but i lined mine up dot to dot and then degree'd it and it was 1 degree off (yet there is error in every calculation performed)

What spring tool did you get? the $40 tool from KD will work for single springs like the 918's. Also, the tool vinci sells is very nice.

Oh yeah, lots of towels (red rags and the shop towels)

hope this helps

I know that the spring swap is the most complicated (even though I haven't done it myself). There are tools out there just for that part of the installation.

a timing chain would not be a bad idea, such as a JWIS chain or i am sure some other people could chime in and give some other ideas. I dont know if you need a double roller, especially if your pulley is old, may have to get it machined.

since you have an 02, i dont think you will see much of a gain with the oil pump. if you had a 98-00, I would definately suggest it, but you are probably good. In fact, i bought a ported LS6, but i would have just gotten the LS6 pump (like you have) except time would not allow that.

also, i suggest getting a pen magnet even if you decide to you the 5/16" rods

Why not put on new belts, a new pcv valve, and some plugs too.

I would go ahead and replace your fuel filter while you are at it as well

i wouldnt go with the hardened pushrods since your an m6. If you happen to misshift with the hardened pushrods, it wont bend, it will just screw up a valve or something worse.

Stick with stock pushrods, if you bend one, no biggie, just change it.
