Currently building a 418ci and need help 4.080x4.000
BME pistons 13.0:1
Cola 4340 gun drilled crank
.670I-.650E solid roller
Ported Ls6 heads with TD shaft mount rockers
Big Shot of Nitrous
What do you guys think would be the best and strongest 6.175" Rod.Looking for something light and durable I'm not sure what I want. Just want to see what everyone else is running.

6.175, thanks for the imput I think I'm gonna go with a set of carillo's. I didn't find a listing for Ls1 rods so I called them, $195 each 
ultra light A-beam rods. They said there good for 1200-1400hp. I'm still gonna shop arould alittle.

Just an option. The pistons are going to be custom anyway, so you can choose whatever rod you want....unless you already had them made...

I have a buddy that works at BME,I got speical price on the "ProtowType" 
Ls1 13.0:1 pistons. I was told that 6.175 rod was the rod to use. If anyone has any better suggestions please let me Know.

Sence you have the pistons bust out the spec sheet. It i will tell you what rod to use with these pistosn. Also if you run a rod that is to long the motor will new turn over and if it does you will distory the motor in a matter of secounds. You should have bought the rods pistons and crank at once so you dont run in to this problem. What are the specs on the pistons. Did you have the wrist pin moved up closer to the oil rings??. If you did you are going to have to sit down and figure out what the clearances are. Then you have to apliy them and do the math to find out what rods you need. Or call TR or TSP or any major company like that and ask. I think you have made a big mistake on what you have bought. Hope your buddy got you ls1 pistons and not SBC.

For nitrous, you definitly want to bring the top ring down as far as you can. The shorter rod will allow you to do this. If you can, I would go with the shorter rod.
