Like JRP said. The 224 cam will give you decent power in the low medium and higher rpms and the 231 will give you decent power in the medium and good power in the higher rpms. If you have gears or you are going to get gears go with the 231 if not the go with the 224. Good luck.

99-LS1-SS summed it all up for you. Stock 3.42 gears 224 cam 3.73's or 4.10s then the 231/237. My bet would be two identical cars, same drivers, one with the 224 and the other had the 231/237, the kicker being they both had stock 3.42 gears. My bet would be the 224 car would be all over the 231/237 car due to the lack of lowend and midrange with the lazy 231/237 lobes. The TSP cam needs to be geared to be effective. MHO

I have the 224 and it is a great all around cam. Not too radical not too mild. Gives you decent power. If it is your first cam I would probably lean towards the 224 cam.. I don't think you will be disappointed. Good luck.

You'll see 224 cams trap around 114-116. While 231/237's trap around 116-118 on usual M6 setups (A4's trap a bit less). Generally mid 12's for 224's, low 12's for 231/237's on stock heads.
It's hard to generalize, 'cause anyone with a good suspension, rear end and tire can get either of these cams in the 11's easily.

My times with the 231 are in my sig. I do have heads and a lot of suspension work. My car is getting faster as I figure out the suspension. I expect to drop another .2+ this year just from suspension tuning.
Like said above there are a lot of variables on the 1/4 time with either cam. You never mentioned what you have done to the suspension or what tires you will be running.
