Default 347 or 408??

i have my motor out and was wondering if i should go with the 347 or the 408 iron block.. dont really care about the weight mumbo jumbo ... just about the et and if its worth the extra money for the performance gain for a pretty much daily driver without spray and my pt4400...

You could always do a 370ci 6.0L, they are the same price as the 347 as well. If weight isn't an issue, you may as well get your moneys worth.

Check your PM's.

If you can afford the 408, there is absolutely no reason why you should go with a 347.

Go with 408. Its going to be an extra 2K (for the complete eagle rotating with diamond pistons)

Be silly not too for the extra 100plus RWHP

haha yeah 408, for a daily driver you can go tame and still have alot more power/tq than a max effort 347. I'll tell you what these bigger cube motor move when you hit the gas, I call it insta torque

It would depend on the budget. A well designed 346 will go faster and make more power than a poorly designed 408.

He summed it up right there. Just get a good builder. I also like the sound of an iron block. The 100lbs more of tq is ok too.

If you can afford the 408 then thats what I"d go with for sure.Be sure you have GOOD heads and a decent size cam, like 240x.600 maybe a little bigger if you want Max performance set-up.Also 1 7\8 headers and good exhaust system too!

Ive been deciding between 383 and 408 and it didn't take long to determine the 408 is the way to go. Cant beat it! And if you spray, can't kill it!
