If this is stock bore and 4" stroke, then it's worth about $2,500-3,000 in real street dollars. If it's an all bore 383, then add a grand to it. It's worth that much more from a performance standpoint.

If you live in the real world and use real dollars, nobody pays close to retail for a used shortblock. 50-65% is the norm. It's all driven by demand.
Ask $3,500-4,000 and be prepared to sit on it for a long time. Buyers with real cash in their pockets can find all stroke 383s for less. The difference between asking price and selling price is HUGE!

I'd pay for the quality in Lunanti rather than some Eagle/Scat crap. It makes a big difference to those who are not cheap asses and want a trouble free stroker motor ! that can withstand 1000 HP

My only concern is the extra weight but I am leaning that way. Get a 6.0 block cheap punch it out to 4.125 and get new pistons and rings. Use you crank and rods and there you go...

You guys sound like 99% of the people out there when it comes time to trade in their cars. Everybody thinks their stuff is worth more than it really is. Reality is, the demand-driven market sets the market. Demand for Lunati 383 shortblocks is pretty low. The all-bore blocks are commanding higher prices.
Don't get me wrong. Lunati 383s are super strong and very high quality. It's just hard to find someone willing to pay full bullet when there are so many other good choices out on the market. If you haven't checked lately, this is a depressed resale market for performance parts. Lots more sellers than buyers. Prices are low. Lots of people hurting out there and they're dumping their parts for cheap.
Just don't shoot the messenger.
