LS6 give you a near-stock CR with no cutting on an
LS1 F-body. 6.0 heads will drop you, 5.3s will raise
you. Dunno about your neck of the woods, but in
Florida I would have a hell of a time trying to run
11+:1 CR on pump gas in the summer.

My present plan involves home-porting truck heads
and shaving maybe 0.050 off them. So far I'm only
in the "slice one thin and see what's inside" stage
(3 cuts done, 2 to go to complete one cylinder's
"CAT scan"; takes half an hour per cut with the
abrasive blade chop saw).

Yes, I will be posting scans. No, I don't need anyone
to ask me if I'm done yet. ;P

The PRC line of heads is top notch. There will be some of them running this weekend in the thunder shootout. They only have top quality name brand components. They have 2.04/1.585 valves ( Manley ),PRC spring kit all of this is on new castings.

I see a lot of post that say witch heads are the best or witch heads should i get.
One that is never mentions and is one of the best sets out is SDPC. You can get a set of LS6 heads for $1900 that have been ported. They are flowing just as much or even more than most of the heads out there and they are using stock vavles.

But, with the SPDC heads it's stock LS6 valve springs and retainers. I agree, the price is awesome, and you get the lightweight sodium valves. But once you add dual springs to this kit, the price goes to $2200 or so.

Right?

No one has mentioned GTP heads or LPE heads. Those two guys are the best in the business.

TSP won the race @ thunder last year. The heads used was not your everyday set of heads. They started life as patriot castings, the rest is not patriot. The heads was completely hand detailed.I performed all of this work at my shop. The motor was shifted at 7400 rpm all day long due to a tranny problem.

I did not come on here and bash back and forth about flow numbers vs another company or Dyno's vs Dyno's.It does not matter unless they are all tested on the same bench at the same time with the same bore size ect...I want my product to speak for itself, on the track.

With that being said, look at the results from the Quick Stock class from the Thunder Shootout.
um you claimed they were patriot heads back then Terry.

For the record, I have stated 2 times that the heads were patriot castings. My job was to sell patriot heads. Do you think that I wanted to carry a knife to a gun fight? If you race your car in a major event, such as the thunder shootout, your setup better be top notch. My point was to clarify that a set of heads pulled off the assembly line did not win the race. To win an event like this it takes some attention to detail. If a manufacturing company is producing heads there is no attention to detail. Everyone that purchases a set of heads is expecting the best product available, and they deserve it. If you have many sets of heads leaving on the ups truck everyday, the attention to detail is not a concern.
