Default better cam for my mods?

I am stuck between the hot cam and the GMPP ASA cam. I have researched each of them extensively, and I don't know if I read this wrong or am misunderstanding something, but both of them have great power under the curve and make their power throughout the 2500 to 6500 power range? I understand the unstreetability of the ASA, but I really wouldn't mind the extreme lope if the cam has the same range power as the hotcam. BTW, the TA is not much of a daily driver. I have two other cars.....so, street manners not much of an issue. I'm just wondering how either one would perform when coupled w/ my converter.
I've seen repeated specs and write-ups when the ASA is placed on the M6 cars, but not on many A4's. A buddy and I are are probably going to do the install(just springs and actual stall) and then take it to get it tuned.
I am looking for something wicked sounding, don't care if the car shakes.
Mods in sig, thnx, and I promise this will be my last cam post.

I'm contemplating an ASA cam also becuse of p/v issues. How are you
getting by with that cam w/no tune and auto? Do you have bigger conver-
ter also? I'd appreciate the info thanks.

you could look in to thunders tr224. I like it good streatabilty. I went with mti g1 115 for my ati plans but if i were going all motor I would have gone bigger than 224 2nd time around. Mines not a daily driver either so I will put up wth less streat mainers for more power.

he said that he is looking at either the hotcam or asa! he is not asking about the other cams, he has his mind made up with one or the other. dont try and discourage people away from the hotcam! everyone that i have met that has one loves it! i have it in my car, but havent cranked the car up yet. but i will put some belief in the disbelievers!

Wasent trying to discourage him he said he wouln't mind extream lope. My understanding of the hot cam was it was mild and just alittle more agressive than stock. Not putting the hot cam down at all. I looked into it when i did my cam. I just know now that I wanted more power when i got done with mine. But thats why we are all here to go faster.

yea ok... lol i know you are being serious and i am sorry! you just didnt get the right interpretation from what you read or was told wrong all together. if you look at the stock, then compare it to the hotcam, you will see that the hotcam is very much more aggressive than the stock. i mean when people do a ls6 cam swap, they normally gain about 20-30 rwhp, but from 4000-6200 rpms. the hotcam will put out more power under the curve and all the way through rpms. maybe a lil more hp, but a lot more torque than the ls6. i see some people that make the same numbers with the hotcam as the tr224?!? most dont but there are quite a few. so to say that it is slightly more mild than stock is not a true statment, and i know you didnt mean to offend or anything, just clearing it up for you. sorry if it comes out mean, just tired of all the hotcam bashin thats all lol

Have no experience with an auto, most that do say they needed tuning for drivabliity issues , I have an M-6 and though it was drivable, I wanted more stock like manners, so I had it tuned and street manner wise it's stockish, just ignore the lope, it drives like stock, my last Dyno was 376 RWHP and 358 RWTQ, the only cam I have thought about switching to is the ASA, I'm like you don't want to deal with high lift cams and their inherent problems and spinning the motor up any higher than I do now rev limit is at 6600 good enough for me.

I'm gonna go with the ASA cam. Wicked lope, and has a 2500-6500 range, so this should be good with my converter? Tuning might be hell, but I know of a couple good ones. I'll probably go with a true dual exhaust setup as well.

Both the hotcam and the ASA cam are two of the three performance cams offered by GM Performance Parts.

The Hotcam is 219/228 .525 .525 112 LSA

The ASA cam is 226/236 .525 .525 110 LSA

The Grand AM cam is 239/251 .570 .570 106 LSA
