Default What else to go with TSP 231/237 cam?

Ive pretty much decided on a TSP 231 / 237 cam, to go in my daily driver. I dont really drive it more then 2 or 3 times a week except in the summer and dont have emmisions.

What im planning on going with:
TSP 231 / 237 cam
LS6 ported oil pump
ASP UDP
Patriot dual valve springs
4.10 Gears
Do I need new pushrods?
Anything else reccomended

Yes, get the chromemoly pushrods. The stock pr's will flex under the load of the stiffer springs and higher rpms.

The Patriot valvespring kit comes w/ titanium retainers, new seals, and seats. He would need the cam install kit with the gaskets, and crank bolt.

Why are u going to put in a ported oil pump? What do u need it for?

I ask cause i am learning too =)

Also, I am just curious cause i am doing an install with heads/cam/headers/a arms/k member/drag lites and probably either go from my borla exhaust to true duals with an x (unless i feel that a torque arm is more important and i just buy the proper y pipe to connect the kooks lt's to my borla exhaust) and I have a direct port kit at home in the box and I have the holley blue pump but, I will install the pro fogger kit after i learn to drive my car with the first install is done.

So....... I was wondering should i look at changing my oil pump? Why are u changing yours?

Thanks,

Crystal

If you're going through the trouble of replacing the oil pump, you should get a new chain as well... either a JWIS single chain or a Rollmaster double.

Also make sure you have all new gaskets. I replaced all my gaskets except for my the crank seal and the valve covers and guess what was leaking after the cam install and some racing... You guessed it, valve cover and crank seal.

I probably dont need it, but its just an extra safety measure. I only have 23k miles on my car, but it will boost the oil pressure and I figure that since im down there may as well replace it.

Are you currently having issues with your stock oil pump? I'm using the stock pump, I only have 23k miles on my car with a 231/237 cam, and my oil pressure is great... at idle I'm sitting at around 60 psi, and cruising it's around 65 psi. That jumps up to 70-75+ on WOT... so pressure is definitely good with the stocker.

How soon is very soon? I remember reading a post of yours about some sales at the end of the month. I can decide between the magic stick and the 231/237.

No, im not having trouble. I was just reading around, and its more of a safety mod, I dont need it but I figure im going to be down there anyways. May as well spend the extra $150 and just get it to increase reliability.

then you should also do the chain as well... it's a free labor mod if you're doing the pump.
