Default I found this interesting PP LS6 heads

Speed Inc shop car:

C5R block, 232/232 116LSA cam, 427 cubic inches, TH400 (unlocked) big turbo and LS6 Patriot Performance heads.

900RWHP with an unlocked converter and heavy drivetrain at only 17#'s boost, rolling into the gas as the slicks would ignite on the dyno...

They think 1000RWHP is just around the corner.

Check out this thread...

https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-induction/240695-speed-inc-shop-car-427ci-gt88-preliminary-dyno-results.html

Very Impressive. I'd be interested to see what valve sizes and prot volumes they used.

Damn, thats some serious power. Very impressive. Props to Patriot if they're the only ones who worked on those heads.

LS1 speed is pretty good at working on Patriot heads. I'm sure they have done a pretty good bit of work on them. I don't think they would put out of the box heads on a motor like that......

Thats what I was thinkin. At which case a consumer might as well buy from TEA/MTI or elsewhere by the time the handfinished costs add up.....

I'm not going to say any of there heads are bad, but forced induction can help a bad head look good.

That what i was going to say. I mean look 19# of boost and then on a 427 on race gas with some mad timing and you got it. There are a lot of little thinks that they are not saying. LIke if they use an air/air or an air/water. If they sprayed it to cool the air. I have not read the thread but that is just a guess.

Edit: 112 leaded fuel and no a/c or power stearing. HMMM guess i was right on that race gas.

On an engine dyno with a boost spike to over 30#'s.

That is a very impressive combo as well.

The point I was trying to make is 900RWHP through an unlocked TH400 at a relatively low 17#s boost and very mild cam is VERY impressive.

I thought it was interesting that they used PP heads and they supported that power level.

Actually, that is one of the bigger turbo cams I've seen. Most are in the 22X'ish duration wise. Still an impressive car none the least.

Most turbo cars on the board here are 348ci not 427. That is a very SMALL turbo cam for a motor of that displacement.

Ask Harlan what cam he is running in his 348ci TT setup.

That was the third run on the car and rolling into it and hitting slight electrical problems. Not trying to make excuses but its getting pretty crazy that almost 930 RWHP doesnt seem to be that much.

Anyways, Patriot was the only person to port these heads, however they were told what they were going on and we fulley trusted them. The shortblock in this car is not exactly cheap

Just wait till we crank up the boost and put some slicks on it so it doesnt just sit and spin the tires on the dyno rollers.

The beauty of a turbo is that you can have bad heads, a bad cam, a bad intake manifold, a well designed turbo system, and still make killer power. Instead of racing engines we start racing turbo systems. I'm not exactly opposed to that, because I think that Outlaw 10.5" racing is the most exciting racing that's going on today. There are definaly some closer classes (Comp Elim., Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Bike to name some of them) but it's just amazing what these 'street' type cars are doing, and on a little slick!
