Default LS1 Oil Pressure

What are you guys getting for oil pressure with your oil temp around 190 degrees at idle?

Just curious.

Thanks in advance.

My last motor would get down close to 20 at hot idle. The motor I have now does not go much under 40. The old rule of thumb is 10 psi for each 1000 RPM.

Mine idles at 20 hot. If yours is lowish, like ~20, I probably wouldn't worry. It seems like some are just lower than others.

Thanks guys.

Another question if you please.. How much does a ported LS6 pump such as the ones from Thunder Racing raise oil pressure?

I get 40+ psi hot, and 60+psi cold. It gets over 70 as soon as the car passes 3000 rpms. My Katech pump was $119 from RMS back in June 03.

I don't think I have a high oil pressure due to it being a thunder racing pump, But I could be wrong. I think I was just lucky.

Mine didn't add much, maybe 5-10 psi at the most. Thats what the pressure was stock about.
