Default MTI Introduces the "R5D4 John Holmes Voodoo Shaft" Cam!

AKA the "Y1"

After extensive research and development, MTI is pleased to announce the release of our newest camshaft - The Y1.

Specifications: 234/240, .598, .608 - 113 LSA

- No P/V issues with stock, unmilled heads
- Flycutting will be required with milled heads or heads with larger valves.

This cam is mean! Excellent midrange and top end power - great sound at idle and extremely aggressive exhaust note at WOT!

The first install we did was an automatic F-Body with this cam and Stage II heads that made 440 rwhp through a 12 bolt with 3.73 gears! Imagine the possibilities in a 6 speed car!

To discuss in more detail or place your order, please give Chris or Wayne a call at (281) 870-8787 or send us an e-mail sales@motorsporttech.com

As always, thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

David Coates

Excellent [/mr. burns voice]

So how high does it peak, and about where does the power start to fall off?

It looks very similar to the G5X2 as far as duration and lift, with 2 more degrees on the intake.
It should be a strong cam.

Kyle,

No idea yet! It's a powerful cam but we haven't done in a 6 speed yet. I've got one going in a 6 speed 383 car next week, but don't have any cam only numbers yet.

Want to be the first?

Regards,

David

Can you post a graph of the A4 run? TC locked or un-locked? Thats pretty impressive for an A4 with a 12 bolt...

Hey guys it was my A4 they put it in. so far this cam is sweet. I`m haven`t really got to run it yet. David is right. This cam sounds sweet and has a good lope. MTI dyno her at 441RWHP and 403RWTQ. I love it. We sprayed a 150 TNT F2 wet shot and pulled 650rwhp and 660rwtq. I forgot my dyno sheets. Will post when I pick them up. Remember this is safely tuned for spray. Could have gotten another 10rwhp with more timing. that would have been 450rwhp with A4, stall, 12-bolt with 3.73 gears and heavy ZR`1 wheels.
Remember this is with a completely stock bottom end. I can`t wait to see what she does at the track! MTI has always taken good care of me. Thats why they get my money!!!See you Wensday Dav

what would this cam do in a 382 stroker with stg. 2 LS1 heads and LS6 intake, polished stock TB, FLP headers, no cats, ORY, cutout, auto, Yank 4000PT??? MTI did my motor, would I need to upgrade my valvetrain at all for this cam. I currently have the X1 and it is too mild for my taste...This cam should do well on nitrous with the split on the duration.
