Default What should i use to clean Camshaft?

i bought a used camshaft and there is some crud and grime in between each of the lobes. IM wondering if i should just let it be or clean it before my buddy puts it into my new motor. It allegedly had 300 miles on it when i bought it. Also it is made by ultradyne? Has anyone ever heard of them before?

I haven't heard of ultradyne. What are the specs on the cam? Yeah, you should def. clean all the crap off of it before installing it and then coat it with oil good before sliding it in.

This doesnt make TA2slow346 look very good now does it. Maybe he just made it up. Maybe its a shitty cam with way more than 300 miles on it since there a bunch of **** between the lobes.

Ultradyne is a respected company. I can't remember if they were bought out by some other company in the past 10 yrs. Some very fast folks swear by their cams.

Harold Brookshire owned Ultradyne. Harold has designed lobes for most of the cam companies. He is a genius and well respected. Ultradyne was closed by Uncle Sam and the assets have been bought by Bullet Cams. Harold is now working for Luanti and his new stuff is now Voodoo Cams a division of Lunati.

No for the bad news. Harolds stuff make big power because of aggressive lobe design. . .what this means for you is it will probly be vary hard on valve springs. . .I mean very hard. You'll need to check spring pressure around every 3K miles.
