here's another trick for yall....take a sanding roll & some 400 grit to finish, knock off all the sharp edges on the top of the piston...reduces hot spots which cause detonation & further inhances flame travel...coating works well too...on our nitrous pistons we ran the top ring down .300 with at least .180 between the first & second...gas porting & compression ring between the 1st & second was also a big plus...rod length was determined by pin heighth, usually 6" if i remember correctly...and Cometic works better for me than o-ring/copper/hylomar
