Default Heads or cam first?

What would be the better way to go...choose the cam you want, and find a set of heads that work well with that cam, or find a set of heads you want, and find a cam to work with them?

if i were you i could choose teh heads first if your gettina custom grind because then you have the heads flowed and send that to the cam maker and the can make a better cam thats made for that head

Well, the cam would net you a better gain, but if you plan on doing both its a good idea to match the cam to your heads as suggested above.

So as long as you plan on doing both, and get them to compliment each other you can do either first?

Save your $$ untill you have enough for both and then get a package deal on a matched set.

how much power are you looking for?what are your goals for the car?the stock ls1 heads flow pretty good,if your not going too radical you might find that going cam only will meet your power goals.but if your going to do both eventually,i would talk to one of the sponsors and have them match something up for you,as stated above.

yeah just a cam can put up some very nice HP numbers. I am going to cam mine first and about 3-4 years I plan to get a H/C package. My engine is still fresh so just a cam will do me good. Only 23K on stock motor
