Crane 1.8s, can you run them with solid roller to adjust valve lash?

You need adjustable rockers like jessels or T&D. Shimming is a BITCH.

It is possible, but a pain. A local guy down here runs them on his solid roller all bore motor.

they do have guide plates and if by poly locks you mean the little hex nut on the locking nut , yes they came with those

You could use them with a solid roller since they are adjustable but you would probably have to get a cam custom ground to use with the 1.8s. I would imagine most solid rollers ground for 1.7s would be too aggressive to use with 1.8 rockers. For what the cranes cost you are almost to a set of t&d or jesels moneywise anyhow. Unless you already had the cranes and just get a cam made...
