Default For those with Scoggin Dickey Timing Sets

How many degrees retard/advance can you put in a cam with the SDPC timing set? I would rather go with the more heavier duty of them and get the double roller.

Also, would I have to get an ASP pully machined to fit this type of timing chain?

You can go 8* advanced and or 8* retarded. I run hardened Rollmaster that i got from SDPC with oil pump spacers. Real nice piece, and i dont reccomend you advance any cam for lS1, straight up or slightly retarded with average popular size cams. I dont know about pulley clearance but i heard only vettes have a problem with this?

Instaled the Rolmaster (SDPC) double roller with ASP pully two week ago. No problems here.

For any of you thinking about getting the Rollmaster single timing set; It's of high quality, but [IS NOT] adjustable. Oh well, even if I had bought an adjustable set, I would have more that likely just stuck it in there dot-to-dot anyway.

Just thought I would let you know about the single chain set.

LS1derfull, why do you say not to advance a cam in a LS1? My cam is a 226/224 112 lobe and it has ZERO advance. I was thinking of advancing it about 4 degrees so I don't have to shift any higher than 6,500 rpms.

Anyone have the link to the SDPC double roller?

Tim 98z - Any tips on the install of the two pieces? So, no machining of the ASP pulley?

Thanks guys.

I'm getting my cam with a +4 degree advance ground in. For a street driver, I'd rather gain some bottom end. I'd do the same on yours.

I believe that any double roller requires spacers placed on the oil pump. This caused pump to ballancer sleeve clearence issues for ma and several others have also reported this. There is a active thread on using a ASP pully with a double roller timing set - explaining what needs milled - check it out
