Best cam for a 408 w/N2O
Well, I'm building my 408, and I just wanted to get everyone's opinion on camshafts. I'm building a 408 with LS6 stg 3's, running about 11.5:1 CR and I'd like to put on a 200-250 direct port N2O shot. My car is an M6 and I plan on installing 4.56 gears also. Any ideas??

Why would you want 4.56 gears I would be thinking 3.42 gears to use that power.
Anyway's-- Cam selection is based on what you are really looking for and the rpm range you want to stay in.Keep in mind you are talking HP but torque is what you are going to get.The 24+ cam listed is good. Also to get the most I would suggest a good stepped header like a Kook 1 7/8 stepped to 2.0 .

Call FMS and ask for a cam similar to mine, but with more duration and exhaust. With the gears you have you will be better off with a much bigger cam than mine. I have a 250/257 lsa 112 and I run 3.42's and with my light car they are pretty close to perfect. 3.73-3.90 would be totally perfect if I did not spray as much.

My 395 had a(hydrolic) 252 261 651 651 on a 115lsa and it did great. Most people dont have a big enough sack to run something like that though.LOL.I would go as big as You can on the header's like some others have said.Like 1 7/8 stepped to a 2in. with a 3 1/2 collector.Who ever dose your head work let them know that your running a 1 7/8
primary and to open the exit point of the exhuast port up for it.The main three tricks
to make good power on the hose is compretion, a strong exhuast slit on your heads
as well as your duration split on the cam,and of course a 114lsa or better.
main thig is to get the **** out of the motor.

no it was a hydrolic. It made only 450rwhp and 535 torque on motor, but thats with a t400 and a 4500 stall. The same tranny and converter robbed 70rwhp from my buddys car so I wasnt to upset.I'm selling my whole nitrous setup heads, cam the whole nine.

Hey Kumar, I'll have to come down there sometime to check out your car and maybe let you show me some of the street racing scene down there. I'm in Dallas every other month or so for whatever reason
