Default Completely forged 347, 348????

like the title says. I would rather not use the stock crank. I have seen many of our sponsors that have them without a forged crank. Does anyone know where to get one. I would like to stay away from Eagle because i have heard some bad stuff. I know they are probably fine just have read some bad stories.
TIA
MIKE

Well i would just rather go forged. Hell you never know if i might go more than that. Plus with the luck i have been having lately i would rather just be safe. Now instead of asking questions could someone answer mine.

A forged crank? Almost any sponser should have one. I believe Lunati makes a forged crank if you want to stay away from Eagle. I just checked and Thunder Racing sells that and two other brands.

Good luck!

Mike, where are you? If you want to but a short block your best bet is to find a sponsor close to you. Do a search to see what kind of work that sponsor does.

If you want to work with us, let me know. We build 'em from 346 to ...well...quite large

if you're goin with a forged crank why not go the 383 route? 4 '' crank, then later you could get her gored for a 408?

exactly. paying 2k for a lunati 3.622 stock crank is a waste of money. Harlan has already proved the stock cranks strength capacity.

Everyone said on here that it would be better to go with a stock bore rather than a stroker route. I don't know what to do i am still in denial i think. Just doing lots of research before i make the plung.

I totally agree. I just don't know where i am going with this yet. I would hate to spend the money and then find out the hard way i should have gone another. I have very bad luck and i am just trying to cover my *** no matter what the expense. I am tired of breaking down i guess you could say. You are probably right just haven't decided yet. Thanks for the input i have definitly not put that out of my options yet.

383 is stock bore with a 4'' crank, you can order a full rotating assembily from alot of our sponsors. If it was me i would go with a 383 first, then start beefing up the rest of my car for a 408 when i have the money.

your luck cant have been any worse then mine, my motor went . i replaced it with a forged 347; stock treated crank, custom diamond pistons, eagle H beams, Clevite bearings, brand new ls6 block, arp main heads studs, all machined and balanced for under 3k.

I will just have to see what to do, but that does sound like a good idea.
