Question New TEA Heads now which Cam Please help

I just bought a set of TEA LS6 Stage 2.5 heads with a 3.90 bore from evilz28nos on here. I need help with what cams I should choose from that will not require me to cut my pistons. You can see my current mods below plus I have a FAST LSX 90mm intake and T.B. to be installed when heads and cam go in. It is not a daily driver but I do want good street manners and idle but also a beast with 450 plus rwhp. I might add nitrous down the road. All feedback is welcome.

TEAs seem to do really well with the Futral cams, I would call Allan and see what he recommends. A little (by todays standards) F13 (230/232) would probably make that or more with those killer heads, especialy with the 90mm stuff and your current boltons. Congrats on a killer set of heads, should be a STOUT setup.

What are your heads flowing? Need to know that to chose the correct cam.

I am still waiting to get the heads and flow sheet but according to evilz28nos who I purchased them from they have a $400 option of a competition hand finishing and flow in the mid 320's at 600. I can post more numbers when I get the heads and flow sheet which supposedly will be shipped today or tomorrow.

If they do in fact flow that well, then a cam that can take advantage of the upper lift flow should rock. Street manners rely a lot on the tune, so be ready for that. The numbers you are looking for on stock cubes with good street manners is a tall but not impossible order. Personally, I would go with the 231/237 and some nitrous - that setup should rock!

Cams with longer duration splits don't seem to do AS well with TEA heads. The TEA heads flow extremley well on the exaust, so they don't need the help of the long exaust duration unless you have a restrictive exaust path. I would and did choose a cam with 0-4 degrees of foward split duration. I have the same heads, but my cam is in the 240's cause I have more cubes. Something in the mid to upper 230's should be great. Get it cut on a 114 for street manners and clearence issues. The Futral cam listed above is a great performer with thses heads.

Hmmm, ya learn something new everyday! I didn't realize the TEA's flow that well on the exhaust.

TEA has always had one of the best flowing exaust ports around.

I can vouch for the fm13 cam. It sounds really nice, makes power every where and is more street freindly then my c1 222/222-.566/.566 112lsa cam.
Oh, I can drive in 6th gear at 1200 rpms with out bucking . This is a great all around cam. Not to big and not very small either.

SAY WHAT?

Unless your tune was done by a retarded monkey, there is no WAY that could be true.

I've been in cars with cams a little bigger than that, and except for the lope, they had stock driveability.

Street manners and good idle with a motor like that is oxymoronic. Come on, your not the "Little Old Lady from Pasadena". Street manners maybe, but at the least a nasty idle is a necessity. You must be trying to sneak up on mustangs.

Well Allan is a little guy but I would not call him a retarded monkey

Allan Futral tuned my car for the c1 and again for the fm13 and you can believe what you want but the car drives every bit as good with the f13 as the c1. It cranks and finds Idle better and has every bit of low end tq as the c1.

If you dont beleive that then you need to do a search on the fm13 cam and see what others say about it.

Have you bothered calling some of these sponsors for their recommendations? Until then nearly every recommendation will be conjecture.

Good backtracking

So which is it? Better? Or the same?

Sigh.

Its between an F13 112 or 114 LSA
or the F14 112 or 114 LSA
Need to speak to Allen to get his advice. I want it to idle good but have the most hp without fly cutting.
